Step-by-Step Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the Atera Agent

Step 2: Run the Installer
Locate the downloaded .msi file in your Downloads folder (or where you saved it), then double-click to start the installation.
Step 3: Follow the Prompts
Click “Next” to proceed, accept the terms, choose the default installation location, and click “Install”.
Step 4: Finish Up
When the installer completes, click “Finish”. Atera will run in the background automatically.
Step 5: Verify
You may see the Atera icon in the system tray (bottom-right). If you don’t, that’s okay — the agent runs quietly in the background.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you encounter issues during installation, try these steps:
- Administrator Access: Ensure you have admin rights on your computer.
- Internet Connection: Verify you’re online.
- Windows SmartScreen: If prompted, click More info → Run anyway.
- Antivirus: Temporarily disable any antivirus that might block the installer (re-enable afterward).
